Villa Windu Sari is comprised of two major buildings set in a lush, tropical, private walled garden exhibiting a generous selection of tropical plants. A water feature wall feeds under a wooden deck into a sparkling, deep blue swimming pool next to an enticing relaxation Bale. The two-storey contemporary villa presents four bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms in one pavilion, while a separate, adjacent pavilion houses a comfortable open Lounge & Dining area off a well equipped kitchen and services area. Upstairs is a cosy, air-conditioned Media Room with a terrace leading to a conveniently located gymnasium.
The stairway to the Media Room culminates on an internal landing which looks over a traditional rice field on the next door land area, where local farmers tend their crop using age old techniques. The adjoining Terrace is inward looking, with an elevated view over the walled garden and swimming pool. Lounge and Dining The spacious Lounge & Dining Pavilion is characterised by a soaring roof, splendid honey-coloured teakwood panelling, a creamy-coloured Indian stone wall and a polished marble floor. Open on three sides, it is cooled by gentle breezes and ceiling fans and dramatically lit by pendulous copper lanterns. The solid teak dining table boasts five stage banquet extensions enabling it to accommodate up to 20 guests. The lounge area is furnished with comfortable sofas and ottomans complemented by a glass coffee table with hidden lighting that creates a soft glow at night. A Sonos digital music system, with many thousand sound tracks sorted into a wide variety of genres, can be controlled remotely from anywhere within the Lounge & Dining Pavilion, the garden or the poolside "bale" Pavilion. Media Room A marble staircase leads from the main Lounge & Dining area up to the Media Room. Elegantly furnished with deeply-cushioned upholstered armchairs and a long sofa, standard lamps, a large floor rug and a built-in desk that hugs the wall, this is a great place to escape and chill out in air-conditioned comfort. It is an ideal location to take in a DVD movie, listen to some music, surf the internet or to just sit and relax with a good book or with friends. Wide windows overlook the pool and adjoining terrace; curtains and timber blinds can be drawn to create a cosy ambience. The Media Room is well equipped with a 50" plasma screen, cable-channel TV, a DVD player and a state of the art Yamaha theatre sound system. It includes a dual microphone karaoke system, as well as a computer allowing internet access. Bedrooms The four double bedrooms are situated in a self-contained two-storey "Sleeping Pavilion" positioned at one end of the swimming pool. Each bedroom has sliding glass doors with teakwood shutters, a timber veneer floor and handmade coffered timber ceilings. All are equipped with wardrobes, air-conditioning, a safe deposit box, a 32" TV with cable channels and an iPod docking station. Jim Thompson silk feature fabrics make up the richly coloured cushion covers complemented by soft fabrics and art pieces; shag-pile rugs rest on the floor. Each bedroom is unique in design and decorated in subtly different colour combinations. Three of the bedrooms contain king-size beds, while the fourth has the option of twin singles or a king-size configuration. Desks, chairs and reading lights are provided for the comfort of guests. The upstairs teakwood balcony has a gorgeous rice field view. The balcony runs the length of the two bedrooms and includes two built-in daybeds, making it a lovely spot to relax with a book. Bathrooms Sliding glass and timber doors lead from each bedroom to luxurious marble-clad bathrooms. Ground floor bathrooms are set in the lush greenery of a private garden, while the upstairs bathrooms are equipped with privacy timber shutters that open to capture gentle tropical breezes. The plunge pool can be accessed by exterior bathrooms doors, thus avoiding the need to walk through the bedrooms. Villa Windu Sari is securely located within a small private estate, the entrance of which is monitored 24 hours. With a further night security hut directly outside the front entrance, the villa is entered via a pivot door positioned within a traditional Balinese gateway. Full facilities are available to provide guests with the option of enjoying a pampered, self contained holiday within the luxurious confines of the villa and its’ grounds. The layout of the villa allows guests to enjoy a balanced combination of outdoor-indoor living. Within the setting of lush tropical gardens the gym, entertainment terrace, BBQ, swimming pool and relaxation bale offer a choice of additional leisure activities. An international direct dial phone system is installed for your convenience and there is access to the internet and cable television, with a host of international channels available for viewers of all nationalities and interests. Pool & garden Villa Windu Sari is surrounded with a stone wall enclosing a lush tropical garden which integrates a sparkling, deep blue 13 by 4.5 metre swimming pool complete with timber deck; it is accessed by wide steps and flanked by an impressive pandanas tree. The timber deck is furnished with four sun lounges and a shade umbrella. In local tradition the pool, which ranges in depth from 1.5 to 2.2 metres, is unfenced and directly accessible from all parts of the garden; the property is not suited to non-swimming young children. A large "bale" open-sided relaxation pavilion and a Himalayan-stone water cascade are located poolside, and the deck is furnished with sun-beds and umbrella. A pool shower is provided for guest convenience. There is a built-in 5-burner gas barbeque in a specially allocated area of the garden. Flat velvety lawns are bordered by an eclectic selection of tropical plants, flowering shrubs and trees including palms, mini hibiscus, stag horn ferns and orchids. At night the garden and pool take on a different and special persona, due to clever recessed and positioned lighting. The Entertainment Terrace is positioned adjacent to and on the same raised level as the Media Room from which it is entered; it is furnished with outdoor sofas and a solid wood table. As the sun sets in the West and evening shadows intrude over Villa Windu Sari, this is an ideal elevated place to capture gentle, cooling breezes while enjoying the outlook over the villa’s lush, tropical gardens and pool. The sound system from the Media Room is available to further enhance the pleasant ambiance of this private hideaway location. Kitchen The kitchen is conveniently located adjacent to the Lounge & Dining area, but discreetly out of sight from the dining table. It is fully equipped with everything the Chef needs in order to prepare delicious meals, in accordance with the needs and whims of guests. In addition to a well equipped pantry, there is a large refrigerator and a separate freezer and beverage refrigerator, to supplement the fresh food shopping which is carried out daily according to guest requirements. The kitchen is equipped to cater for all meals, however it is not a commercial kitchen and this requires that there be some restrictions on the number of menu items that can be prepared at one time. Of course for major functions or special occasions and large celebrations, arrangements can be made to cater for virtually all requirements. BBQ A special feature at Villa Windu Sari is provided by the built-in BBQ located in the garden, adjacent to the swimming pool. On this 5 burner gas BBQ, the Chef and villa staff can prepare a range of special menu items for your enjoyment. Staff members at Villa Windu Sari are in attendance 24 hours to serve your needs in a friendly manner. An experienced Chef will prepare meals to your request from an extensive menu and there is a selection of beverages available for your enjoyment. Breakfast is complimentary, while other menu items will be charged to your account. Villa Windu Sari is supported by a carefully selected team of well trained, dedicated and friendly staff who will do their best to ensure that guests experience a truly enjoyable stay in Bali.
